Where do you go if you were a successful television/movie star a few (read many) years ago and your career has stalled? Maybe you found a new calling, had a couple of kids, immersed yourself in religion.
But some washed-out celebs are finding a new home on ABC Family.
Over the past few years ABC Family has been resurrecting old favorites and giving them plenty of cheesiness and interesting plots to work with.
Read on for some of TMTT's favorite revitalized television/movie stars.
How you know her: Most famously for Back To The Future and Caroline In The City where she played the title character Caroline, a cartoonist living in New York City.
Candace Cameron Bure
How you know her: Cameron Bure played the iconic tween-teen-young adult D.J. Tanner on the hit show Full House from 1987-1995. After Full House, Cameron Bure stared in a string of forgettable TV movies before marrying her hockey player husband and starting a family.
Where is she now: Playing the uber religious gym manager, Summer Van Horne on Make It Or Break It. Art may be imitating life as Cameron Bure is equally as religious as her character, but she does give the character a bit of tongue in cheek sass when it comes to religion. Summer plays a younger mother figure to a group of elite gymnasts while trying to squash her attraction to the team’s coach.
Where is she now: For the past few years she has been playing Anne Juergens a mother who is struggling to keep her family together after her 16-year-old daughter reveals she is pregnant and her husband repeatedly cheats on her. The Secret Life certainly is not a John Hughes movie, but Ringwald is up to the challenge and often gives a raw and genuine performance.
How you know her: As Roz Doyle, the loyal and often promiscuous producer on Frasier.
Where is she now: On the Make It Or Break It set, as Kim Keeler the mother of Elite Gymnast star Payson Keeler. Kim has to make tough decisions regarding her daughter and is totally believable as a hard working mother amongst a sea of stage moms.
