First Jim Parsons won an Emmy, then a Golden Globe, and now it seems he's after a Tony. The geeky physicist known as Sheldon Cooper on CBS's Big Bang Theory, will make his Broadway debut this April in The Normal Heart.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Parsons will play Tommy Boatwright, a Southerner whose part of a group of HIV/AIDS activists in the early 1980s. Joining him is former Pushing Daisies star, Lee Pace, who will play activist Bruce Niles.
The Normal Heart will run for a 12-week limited engagement, with previews starting April 19th and opening April 27th. Additional cast members include Ellen Barkin, Joe Mantello, John Benjamin Hickey and Felix Turner.
