A Moment of Seriousness for the Lohans

For once I am going to refrain from berating the Lohans. While it pains me to say it, this week's episode of their reality show was actually border-line poignant, as big brother Mike reunited with his girlfriend Nina with the help of younger sibs Ali and Cody, and Nana Lohan revealed her ongoing pain over the death of her husband in 2004.

The Lohans almost resembled a normal, I'll be it overly dramatic, family.

Mike provided a nice soliloquy on the duties of brothers and sisters that, quit frankly, I have never heard come out of the mouth of a male college student. But when the family gathered around the kitchen table and discussed the memories of their grandfather, I actually didn't bowl over laughing. Little Cody pulled out his grandfather's mass card from his soccer shin pad and Nana Lohan teared up as she read the card out loud (at this point I almost thought I was watching an episode of 7th Heaven).

But while the emotion seemed genuine and was a nice break from the usual insanity, next week the Lohans take on Vegas, where one can only hope debauchery ensues.
